I’m Wilma, the artist and creator behind Piccolo Artista, a studio specializing in handmade personalized creations.
I love being surrounded by little things that may seem simple at first glance, but that hold a truly special meaning.
Objects that tell a story, preserve a precious memory and still manage to bring a smile every time you look at them.
This is the emotion I want to share through my creations: handmade objects crafted with patience and passion, unique pieces with a soul, created to last.
In a world where many things are mass-produced, I choose to celebrate craftsmanship, the time dedicated to each creation and the importance of every detail.
I also choose high-quality materials, carefully selected, while paying special attention to suppliers and small businesses that share the same passion for well-crafted work.
This is my belief, and it is the reason why I create every day with Piccolo Artista.
The birth of Piccolo Artista
Piccolo Artista was born in 2016 from a personal story made of travels, discoveries and life changes. I left Italy and travelled extensively before finally settling — with my suitcase and my sewing machine! — in France, in Montpellier.
Then I became the mother of three wonderful children. Thanks to them, I learned to see the world differently, to rediscover the beauty of small things and to understand the incredible richness of children’s imagination. Their drawings, their stories and their unique way of creating inspired me to bring this project to life: Piccolo Artista.
I chose to use my craftsmanship to celebrate children’s creativity, transforming their ideas into unique keepsakes that they can treasure, proudly share and preserve as a lasting expression of their imagination. Because every child is unique, every creation deserves to be unique too.
Bringing drawings and memories to life
Every child’s drawing has something unique. Behind a few lines and colours, there is an imagination, an invented character and a story that only the child knows.
When I transform a drawing into a custom plush toy, my role is not simply to reproduce an image. I aim to preserve its character, originality and the emotion behind the creation. Each plush toy thus becomes a true handmade interpretation of a childhood memory.
A handmade creation personally made by me
At Piccolo Artista, every creation is personally made by me, from the first idea to the final details. I work alone in my studio, and every project receives special attention. There is no mass production, no pre-made templates and no automated creation.
Every request is different, because every person, every family and every story is unique. This handmade approach allows me to create truly personalized keepsakes.
