When the Centre Mèdic Esplugues in Badalona (Barcelona) commissioned me to design their official mascot Splugui en version peluche, j’ai tout de suite adoré le défi. 💙
Splugui is a little round blue character who's a real health superhero for kids: a nurse's cap, a red cape, a first-aid kit and a bandage in his hand... what a program!
The creative process
The aim was to remain faithful to the character's original design, while adding volume, character and softness. Every detail was worked on by hand in my workshop: the round cheeks sewn in relief, the big expressive eyes, the little red cross on the briefcase, and even the little stitches embroidered on the yellow bandage.
The red cape is removable, and the label Piccolo Artista est discrètement cousue sur le côté — un petit signe de qualité artisanale. 🧵
A plush toy with a mission
Ce type de peluche personnalisée pour entreprise ou association a un rôle bien particulier : elle accompagne les enfants, les rassure, et donne un visage ami à un endroit qui peut parfois faire peur. Splugui est désormais en route pour rejoindre ses humains ! 🚀
